Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joe Shadow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Jenkins's choice of entrance music: Get Back- Ludacris. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Shadow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Eddie Farnsworth and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jenkins feints and as Shadow raises his hands in defense, Jenkins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Shadow might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Shadow working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jenkins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jenkins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Shadow fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jenkins.

and Jenkins counters with a nice double leg into side control. Shadow won't be happy with that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jenkins wants to control for a moment but Shadow uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Shadow wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jenkins keeps working.
Jenkins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jenkins wants to get back to full guard.
Jenkins is not content to let Shadow control the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jenkins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shadow tries to avoid it but Jenkins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shadow to the ground. Shadow escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jenkins doesn't manage to clinch there - Shadow circles away.

Shadow fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jenkins, pushing him back against the cage.

Shadow breaks from the clinch.
Shadow swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shadow tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Shadow misses with a few strikes there.
Nice takedown defense from Shadow. No joy for Jenkins on that attempt.
Shadow scores with a crisp jab that stopped Jenkins in his tracks.

Jenkins gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Shadow wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Jenkins tries to pull guard but Shadow won't allow it.
Joe Shadow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Jenkins.

Jenkins has clasped his hands together around Shadow's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Shadow is trying to break the clinch but Jenkins has him pressed against the cage.

Jenkins jumps into guard, dragging Shadow to the mat.
Shadow is looking to work some ground and pound but Jenkins has wrist control.

Jenkins lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Shadow!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jenkins cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

BOOM! Jenkins connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Oh Shadow is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jenkins content just to control the position here.
Jenkins breaks from Shadow's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Jenkins is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Shadow is forced to tap! Great finish!
