Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rango Mirceno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ali Mucha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mirceno might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Battle Hymn. Ali Mucha has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mucha shoots in but no luck this time.
Mucha rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mirceno moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Mucha fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mirceno to the ground. Mucha is now in Mirceno's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Mirceno is controlling Mucha's posture.
Mirceno wants to sweep but no luck.
Mucha wants to get up but he can't break Mirceno's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Mirceno is trying to control the position but Mucha postures up.
Mirceno looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mucha is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rango Mirceno has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Mucha is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Mirceno can't fight it off and eventually Mucha manages to take the fight to the floor. Mirceno looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Mirceno wants to control but Mucha is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Mirceno is looking to escape.
Mucha is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Mucha is taking a breather. Mirceno says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Mucha wants to pass the guard but Mirceno is defending well.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Mirceno tries to get to full guard but Mucha has control of the leg.
Mirceno trying to hold on to Mucha's head to control him but Mucha postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mirceno tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mucha sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mirceno somewhat.

Mucha shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mirceno is trying to defend but Mucha finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mucha decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Mucha feints and as Mirceno raises his hands in defense, Mucha changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Mucha rushes Mirceno and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Mucha tries to pull guard but Mirceno won't allow it.
Mirceno prevents a takedown attempt there.
Mirceno tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mucha just stands there and leans against the cage.
Mirceno is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Mucha to keep the fight standing.
Mucha creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Mirceno's defenses.
Mirceno jumps guard but Mucha stands there with Mirceno around his waist. Mirceno gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Mirceno jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mucha walks away with a smile on his face. Mirceno gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mucha's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Mucha duly obliges.
Mirceno circles away from the clinch attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mirceno is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Mucha to keep the fight standing.

Mucha closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mirceno to the mat! Mirceno manages to get full guard.
Mucha is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Mucha keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mirceno's head.

Mucha decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mucha shoots for a double leg takedown but Mirceno sprawls well. He's pushed Mucha's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mirceno throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mucha stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mucha wants it to stay on the feet.

Mucha shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mirceno's guard.
Mirceno is looking to stand up but Mucha isn't so interested in that idea.

Mirceno had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mucha defends it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mucha sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mirceno's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ali Mucha showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Mucha throws a right and a left that both miss.
Mirceno misses with a low kick.
Mucha fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Mirceno shoots in but Mucha avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Mucha shoots for a double leg takedown but Mirceno sprawls well. He's pushed Mucha's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mirceno throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mucha's waist but Mucha gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mirceno off to one side.
Mirceno shoots in but no luck this time.

Mucha lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Mucha shoots in for a takedown but Mirceno shows good takedown defense.

Mucha darts in and clinches Mirceno up against the cage.

Mucha gets control of Mirceno's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mucha will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Mucha lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mirceno!

Mirceno tries to hold on but Mucha postures up.
Mirceno is looking to get to half guard.
Mirceno wants to control but Mucha is having none of it.

Mucha takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Mucha can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mirceno is looking to escape.

Mucha get's back to his feet.
Mirceno tries to clinch but Mucha is having none of it.
Mucha scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Mirceno misses with a head kick.
A combination from Mucha does no damage.
Mirceno dives in and grabs Mucha's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mucha pushes down on Mirceno's head and hops out.
Mirceno leaves Mucha with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

I wouldn't like to be where Mucha is right now.

Mucha is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Rango Mirceno has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Mirceno works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Mucha pushes Mirceno away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Mirceno gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rango Mirceno.
Well Mucha has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
