Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Patrick Gap!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gap looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Gap slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Dangle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Dangle here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Dangle jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Gap is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Gap and Dangle has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Gap is breathing heavily.
Dangle creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Gap is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Dangle has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dangle cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Dangle is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Gap is surviving well by controlling Dangle's body position as best he can.
Gap seems to have recovered his senses.
Gap tries to hold on but Dangle pushes him away.

Gap is desperately trying to improve his position but Dangle has a good base and remains in mount.
Dangle has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Gap's face.
Dangle postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Gap looks a forlorn figure.
The referee warns Gap that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Gap throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Dangle escapes and throws Gap's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Dangle is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Gap is trying to escape and Dangle transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Gap is forced to tap! Nice work there by Dangle! Very nice indeed!
