Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Gorden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Davis might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Franz Ferdinand - Ulysses. Gorden has chosen Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis clobbers Gorden with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Davis misses with a two punch combination.
Gorden misses with a takedown attempt
and Davis counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gorden shoots and misses
and Davis makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Antonio Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davis misses with an uppercut. Gorden saw that one coming.
Gorden shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Davis sprawls well. Davis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gorden gets slowly back to his feet.

Davis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Davis bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gorden's head.

Davis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gorden stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Gorden shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Davis sprawls well. Davis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gorden gets slowly back to his feet.

Nice uppercut lands for Davis. That snapped Gorden's head back.
Davis throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gorden slips a jab and a cross from Davis.
Davis fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gorden looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Davis stalks Gorden and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gorden's face. Gorden staggers backwards, shaken.
Sloppy strikes from Davis. Those never looked like landing.
Gorden shoots in but no luck this time.
Davis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Davis just misses with a punch to the body.
Gorden throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gorden with a poor takedown
and Davis counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Davis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gorden was well out of range. Poor timing from Davis.
Davis is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

and Davis counters with an outside leg kick.
Davis lands a glancing blow to the side of Gorden's head.
Gorden fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Davis throws the left hand but Gorden avoids the punch easily.
Gorden gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Davis counters with a nice uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Gorden closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Gorden stalling away here and it's allowed Davis to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Davis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Davis jabs Gorden to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Gorden tries to score a power double leg takedown but Davis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gorden somewhat.
Davis looks to land a right hand but Gorden moved out of range.
Gorden drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Davis throws a chopping leg kick but Gorden manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
A nice inside leg kick there by Davis. That's going to slow Gorden down.
Gorden tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Davis swivels and escapes.
Davis jabs Gorden to the body, keeping him at a distance.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gorden wants to pass the guard but Davis is keeping the position.

Gorden postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Davis is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gorden, into his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Davis gets to his feet. Gorden looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Davis closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Gorden walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

and Davis comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Gorden stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Davis is on him like rabid pit bull! Gorden slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!
