Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tatsuyo Hayate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Bernie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bryan Bernie told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bernie keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Bernie throws a nice looking combination but Hayate bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Bernie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hayate's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hayate's back!

and Hayate counters with a good low kick that Bernie was not able to check.

Bernie is breathing heavily.
Hayate dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bernie. That did some damage!

Bernie throws a strike but Hayate rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Bernie has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hayate is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Bernie.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hayate looks up at the clock and then as Bernie takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hayate smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Hayate thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Hayate lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Hayate wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bernie keeps working.

Hayate is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Hayate is chipping away with strikes.
Hayate wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bernie keeps working.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hayate wants to take a breather but Bernie manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Hayate.
Hayate stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bernie swivels though and keeps the full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
