PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lord Jay Roxas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neil Striker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roxas comes to the cage accompanied by Are You Ready?. Striker has chosen Are You Ready? as his entrance music. Roxas has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lord Jay Roxas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Neil Striker! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Glass and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A left lands for Striker.
It looks like Lord Jay Roxas has been cut. Striker bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Roxas throws a low kick but Striker moves out of range easily. Roxas is breathing heavily. Roxas tries a low kick but Striker avoids it. Striker thuds a left hand into Roxas's body. Striker missing with a left hand there. Roxas was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Striker swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Striker scores with a jab. Striker throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Striker fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Striker misses with a hook. Roxas ducked under it nicely. A combination from Striker does no damage. Roxas takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Striker throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Roxas stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roxas takes one on the button. Striker lands a jab to Roxas's midsection. Striker scores with a nice strike. Striker moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Roxas moves out of range as Striker strikes. Striker lands a nice shot to the body.
Striker feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Roxass jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Striker drops Roxas with a left and a right! Oh, Roxas is hurt - Striker dives into side control looking to finish!
Roxas is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! The strikes coming from Striker are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Oh Roxas is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Striker working the ground and pound but Roxas is defending the strikes. Roxas seems to have got his legs back now. Striker fails to land a wild elbow strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Striker throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Roxas on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Roxas tries to get out of the position. Striker working the ground and pound but Roxas is defending the strikes. Striker is looking to take a break and control but Roxas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. An elbow from Striker crashes against the mat.
Striker throwing shots but missing, from side control. Striker wants to stand but Roxas is controlling his arm. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Roxas dodges the ground and pound from Striker. Striker looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Roxas is avoiding damage well.

Roxas is not content to let Striker control the position. Sloppy strikes there by Striker. Striker tries to score with some ground and pound. Roxas controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. The ground and pound from Striker seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Striker creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Roxas sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Roxas is not content to let Striker control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Striker looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Roxas is avoiding damage well.
Roxas is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Striker postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Striker throwing shots but missing, from side control. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Roxas stops Striker from passing to mount. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Roxas dodges the ground and pound from Striker. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Neil Striker dominated that round. The cut man is working on Lord Jay Roxas's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Roxas on the wrong end of a nice jab. Lord Jay Roxas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Roxas attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. A head kick misses from Roxas. Striker fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Striker lands a jab to the head.
Neil Striker seems to be getting the better of the standup. Striker thows a body shot but no joy. Striker lands a two punch combo.
Lord Jay Roxas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Roxas walks into a stiff left hand from Striker.
Lord Jay Roxas's cut is getting worse. This has been an exciting period of action! Striker cracks Roxas with a right hand to the side of the head. Roxas has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Striker scores with a nice strike. Roxas walks into a straight right hand from Striker. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Striker throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Roxas stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Striker dips to his left and cracks Roxas with an uppercut! Striker scores with a hook to the body. Roxas takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Striker throws a series of punches but Roxas moves out of range. Striker throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Roxas sees it coming and avoids it easily. and Striker counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Roxas! He's just covering up as Striker starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
