Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Santana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wanderlei Silva could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Diego Santana's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wanderlei Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Santana! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva feints a jab promting Santana to slip. Silva then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Santana slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Diego Santana has been cut. Santana fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Silva to the ground. Santana is now in Silva's guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Santana trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Silva is striking off his back. Santana thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. Santana trying to control the pace. Santana stands up from half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Santana lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively. Silva is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Santana manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Silva on his heels. He'll look to pass Silva's guard now, I'm sure. Santana with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Santana controls from within his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silva looking to hit a scissor sweep but Santana is one step ahead there. Santana looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Santana gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva wants to clinch. Santana shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Santana wants to take a breather but Silva is having none of it. Silva is looking to improve his position.
Silva won't allow Santana to pass to mount. Silva gets full guard. Santana advances position into side control! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Silva wants to control but Santana postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Silva tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Santana easily slips into full mount! Silva tries to hold on but Santana postures up. Santana takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Silva swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Silva defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Santana. Santana scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Silva?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Santana thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Santana is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Silva to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Silva shrugs it off. Santana controlling his opponent. Silva tries to get back to half guard but can't. Silva's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Silva tries to hold on but Santana postures up. Silva is trying desperately to improve position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Diego Santana dominated that round. The cut man is working on Diego Santana's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Silva tries to bum rush Santana with a series of wild strikes but Santana uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Santana sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat. Santana tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Some wild striking there from Silva.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Silva enables Santana to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Silva manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Silva keeping moving, preventing Santana from controlling successfully. Santana sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Silva's guard. Santana seems to be looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round. Santana moves nicely into side control. Santana is chipping away with strikes.
Silva tries to get back to half guard but can't. Santana looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Silva wants to get back to his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Silva tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Santana wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva wants to get back to his feet but Santana is dominant here and he's now got Silva's back! Santana is not going to allow Silva to sit and survive in this position. Good control from Santana. Silva holding both Santana 's hands and preventing any damage. Silva covers up after that shot from Santana.
Silva is trying to get back to his feet but Santana has full control of the position and if anything, Silva has just worked his way into a worse spot. Santana is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Silva is defending well though. Santana let's go of the attempt for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santana is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Silva has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Santana has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Silva taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Santana doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Diego Santana!
