Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toshi ba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying ba's choice of entrance music: drowning pool-Bodies. Quinton Jackson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Quinton Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Toshi ba! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch combination from Jackson misses. ba throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
ba throws a right and a left that both miss. Jackson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into ba's guard. Jackson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. ba wants to sweep here but Jackson controlling him for the moment. Jackson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Jackson won't allow ba to sweep him here. Jackson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We're going to have a standup here because Quinton Jackson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Good exchange - Jackson coming out on top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson is trying hard to land a takedown here. ba sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. ba ducks right into an uppercut from Jackson. Jackson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in ba's half guard. ba is trying to control but can't.
Jackson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Quinton Jackson. Jackson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in ba's guard. ba trying to keep a closed guard but Jackson is proving a slippery customer.
Jackson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Quinton Jackson. Jackson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. ba is looking to get to half guard. Jackson sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Jackson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. ba wants to hold on but Jackson pushes him away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. ba throws a looping overhand right but Jackson ducks down to avoid it. ba lands a jab to Jackson's midsection. ba throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jackson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jackson. Jackson pushes down on ba's leg and manages to get into half guard. Still in half guard, Jackson seems content to control.

Quinton Jackson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Jackson shoots in but ba avoids the takedown attempt easily. Toshi ba is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. ba manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Jackson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Jackson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. ba is keeping the position for now. Jackson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Quinton Jackson. Jackson shoots in for a takedown but ba shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. ba misses with an uppercut. Jab, jab by ba - just one landing. Quinton Jackson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. ba misses with a wild combination.

Jackson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. ba was covering up waiting for the punch and Jackson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jackson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. ba trying to control the position.

Quinton Jackson dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. ba is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jackson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jackson's back! Jackson is trying to escape under a series of strikes and manages to escape from ba 's hooks. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. ba misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
ba prevents Jackson from getting the reversal. ba throws some wild stikes that Jackson manages to avoid easily.
Jackson regains half guard. Quinton Jackson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jackson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jackson tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. ba throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Jackson to regain full guard. ba missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Jackson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Jackson pushes ba off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson tries for a takedown but ba sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Jackson avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Toshi ba has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jackson fails with a takedown attempt. ba fails to land with a series of punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. ba keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quinton Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jackson. ba gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. ba trying to control the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Quinton Jackson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jackson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
