6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anton Mikhailov! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Igor Prikhodko and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mikhailov fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The fighters circling - Mikhailov throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Mikhailov throws a right hand that Kim ducks under and follows up with a left that Kim also avoids with ease. Mikhailov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kim moves away. Kim scores with a push kick. Mikhailov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mikhailov throws a big shot that misses. Kim uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mikhailov. Kim drives through and clinches with Mikhailov against the cage.
Mikhailov is defending well against a takedown attempt. Mikhailov prevents a takedown attempt there.
Kim decides to pull guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Kim is looking for a triangle but Mikhailov pushes his legs off easily.

Mikhailov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Mikhailov sitting in guard, not really doing much. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mikhailov postures up.
Kim had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mikhailov defends it easily. Kim working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mikhailov.

Mikhailov wants to control from the top but Kim keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mikhailov lands a couple of decent looking shots. This has been an exciting period of action! Mikhailov postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Kim quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Mikhailov has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Kim celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
