The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benevidi has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Nichols.
Nichols digs a good hook to Benevidi's body.
Nichols throws a combination that misses
letting Benevidi counter with a right hand.
Nichols moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Nichols lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Benevidi takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Nichols throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nichols lands a head kick!
Nichols throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Benevidi throws a poor cross that misses
and Nichols cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Nichols's jab looks to have found its range, popping Benevidi under the eye.
Benevidi looks gassed!
Nichols lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Nichols swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nichols plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Benevidi is rocked!
Nichols scores with a jab to the jaw.
Benevidi is still on wobbly legs! Can Nichols finish him?
Benevidi throws a hook to the side of Nichols's head but Nichols sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Nichols lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Benevidi circles away quickly and effectively.

Benevidi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nichols.
Benevidi seems to have recovered his senses.
Nichols lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Benevidi crumples to the floor! Nichols milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
