Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Wayne Powell!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powell lands a two punch combo.
Powell lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Nolan really is a fat lump.
Powell loads up on a big right hand but Nolan slips the punch.
Nolan with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Powell to score with a decent uppercut.
Some wild striking there from Powell.
Powell throws a big shot that misses.
Nolan gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Nice takedown defense from Powell. No joy for Nolan on that attempt.
Powell looks to throw the jab but Nolan is out of range.
Nolan showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Powell.
Nolan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Powell throws out the jab.

Powell keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Powell misses with a double jab.
Powell throws a right and a left that Nolan avoids nicely.
Powell thows a left - swing and a miss!
Nolan fails to land the takedown.
Powell scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Powell fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Nolan on the side of the head.

Nolan drives through with a takedown into Powell's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Powell is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Nolan is aware though and is defending well.
Nolan controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Nolan trying to control but Powell is working from the bottom.
Powell is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nolan is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nolan with a flurry of punches that miss.
Powell preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Nolan sitting in guard here, content to control.
Nolan passes into half guard.
Nolan with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Nolan seems to be looking for submissions.
Powell wants to get back to full guard.

Powell is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Powell is refusing to be controlled, as Nolan sits in half guard.
Powell is looking to improve his position.
Powell is staying active underneath Nolan, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Nolan prevents Powell from standing back up.
Nolan not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Powell is defending against the submission attempts here by Nolan.

Nolan is looking for a kimura but Powell is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nolan to get the leverage.

Nolan is looking to advance position but Powell won't allow it.
Nolan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Powell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Nolan stalling.

Nolan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Powell is just riding it out for now. Nolan eventually gives up the hold.

Nolan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Powell has managed to free his arm - good work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Powell tries to roll over but Nolan keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wayne Powell dominated that round.
That's time! Nolan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Powell slaps away a takedown attempt from Nolan, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Powell waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Nolan.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Powell. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Nolan manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Powell on his heels. He'll look to pass Powell's guard now, I'm sure.

Powell controls Nolan momentarily but Nolan frees himself.

Nolan drops back looking for a leg! Powell is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Powell manages to kick Nolan off! Nolan jumps back into Powell's guard.

Nolan passes Powell's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Nolan seems to be looking for submissions.

Nolan seems to be working for a kimura but Powell defends the submission attempt.

Powell is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nolan pulls his head out easily.

Nolan wants to work for an arm triangle but Powell is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Nolan is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Nolan in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Powell tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Nolan!

In his post fight interview, Chris Nolan started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
