Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shane Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Kreator - Chosen Few. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shane Velasquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Gracie! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie throws a head kick but Velasquez moves out of range.
Velasquez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Velasquez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Velasquez stands and throws Gracie's legs to the side, diving into side control. Velasquez wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Velasquez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie is trying to escape and get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie wants to control but Velasquez postures up. Velasquez tries to move into full mount but can't pass Gracie's legs. Velasquez has knee on belly momentarily but Gracie bucks him off and regains half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Velasquez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gracie doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Velasquez. Velasquez has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Velasquez wants to take his opponent's back but Gracie doesn't allow it. Velasquez tries to control but Gracie wriggling away. Velasquez goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Gracie is on top in guard.
Velasquez is breathing heavily. Velasquez had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gracie is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Velasquez Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gracie's back instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Velasquez is not going to allow Gracie to sit and survive in this position. Velasquez looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Gracie is controlling Velasquez 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard. Gracie slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gracie fails in his attempt to clinch. Velasquez fails with a takedown attempt. Gracie is looking to clinch. Gracie is looking to clinch but Velasquez is avoiding it.
Gracie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Velasquez paws at him with a jab and circles away. Gracie misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie tries a head kick but it misses.

That's one minute gone in the round. Velasquez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gracie's guard. Velasquez postures up.
Velasquez looking to sit in guard and control but Gracie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Velasquez looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Gracie stays in close to Velasquez's body and controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Velasquez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gracie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gracie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Velasquez has an active guard here but Gracie has managed to pass into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Velasquez wants to get back to full guard but Gracie has passed into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Velasquez is trying to escape the mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Gracie is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Gracie wants to clinch. Gracie misses with a head kick.
Gracie doesn't manage to clinch there - Velasquez circles away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gracie stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shane Velasquez. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck for Velasquez with that takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Anderson Gracie will probably get the nod - 10:9. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Gracie works his way back into a safe position though. Velasquez is looking for a triangle here but Gracie uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Velasquez is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Gracie is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Velasquez is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Velasquez wants to hold on but Gracie pushes him away. Gracie is standing up, even though he is in mount. Velasquez shoots in but Gracie avoids the takedown attempt easily. Anderson Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Velasquez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie pushes Velasquez up against the cage in a clinch. Velasquez has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gracie is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shane Velasquez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Velasquez takes an elbow to the temple. Gracie lands an elbow just above Velasquez 's eye. Gracie with an attempt at a knee that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Velasquez takes a knee right on the jaw!

And that's the end of the fight! Anderson Gracie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Gracie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
