PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Grey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dolts Mcintosh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grey's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Rob Zombie - Never Gonna Stop. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Dolts Mcintosh was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Trevor Grey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dolts Mcintosh!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcintosh throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Grey's waist but Grey gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mcintosh off to one side.
Grey misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Mcintosh gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Mcintosh jumps guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Grey preventing the sweep.

Mcintosh has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Grey is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mcintosh.
Mcintosh is trying to control Grey's posture but Grey avoids it.
Grey wants to control but Mcintosh is keeping him busy.

Grey tries for a kimura but Mcintosh is defending well.

Grey decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mcintosh to his feet.

Grey tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mcintosh swivels and escapes.
Mcintosh shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Grey defends it nicely.
Trevor Grey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dolts Mcintosh.

Mcintosh scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Mcintosh looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Grey works his way to full guard. Good work.
Mcintosh trying to control but Grey is working from the bottom.

Grey is looking for a triangle but Mcintosh pushes his legs off easily.

Grey bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mcintosh's guard.

Grey postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mcintosh is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Grey, into his guard.

Mcintosh wants to stand and escape but instead Grey has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Mcintosh is working an open guard so Grey takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Mcintosh tries to score a power double leg takedown but Grey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mcintosh somewhat.
Mcintosh throws a low kick, looking for Grey's leg but Grey calmly moves out of range.
Mcintosh looks gassed!
Mcintosh stuffs the takedown attempt from Grey. Grey gets slowly back to his feet.
Mcintosh looks to land a combination but Grey avoids it well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Grey fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Trevor Grey will probably get the nod.
That's time! Grey's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Grey avoids the head kick by Mcintosh.

Mcintosh is looking to clinch.

Mcintosh fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Grey sprawls well initially but Mcintosh persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Grey is looking to control Mcintosh's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Grey avoid being mounted?
Mcintosh sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Grey defending well though.
Mcintosh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mcintosh is just content to waste time from the top position. Grey takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Mcintosh got a little sloppy there for a moment and Grey has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mcintosh has managed to get both his arms back between Grey's legs - danger averted.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mcintosh must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Dolts Mcintosh has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Mcintosh throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mcintosh fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Grey jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Dolts Mcintosh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mcintosh gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Grey tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Mcintosh is trying to force a seperation but Grey has the dominant position.
Grey is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Mcintosh to keep the fight standing.

Mcintosh dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Grey jumps guard but Mcintosh stands there with Grey around his waist. Grey gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Dolts Mcintosh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Mcintosh shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Grey sprawls well. Grey wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mcintosh gets slowly back to his feet.

Mcintosh forces Grey back against the cage and clinches.

Mcintosh decides to pull guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grey decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mcintosh, up you get!
A head kick misses from Mcintosh.
Grey shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mcintosh as he avoids it easily.

Nice takedown defense from Grey. No joy for Mcintosh on that attempt.
Mcintosh takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Grey throws a combination. Mcintosh tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Mcintosh throws a leg kick that is checked
and Grey counters with a left and a right that stings Mcintosh.
Grey throws a series of punches but Mcintosh avoids them all with ease.
Grey closes the distance and clinches up with Mcintosh, looking for a takedown. Grey pushes Mcintosh against the cage but Mcintosh circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mcintosh shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Grey but Grey pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The crowd cheers as Grey lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mcintosh doesn't seem phased though.

Grey leaves Mcintosh with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Trevor Grey is winning the standup battle so far.
Grey looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mcintosh is fending him off so far but Grey persists. Nope, Mcintosh circles away and we're back to standing.
A lazy left from Mcintosh finds it's target.
Mcintosh should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Grey is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Trevor Grey.
I think Grey has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
