Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Carson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Johnson Juarez! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Juarez has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Carson scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Carson throws a push kick but Juarez slaps the foot to one side. Nice uppercut lands for Carson. That snapped Juarez's head back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nice jab there from Carson. Carson tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Juarez is able to avoid easily. Carson misses with a few strikes there.
Carson jabs at Juarez's body. Carson tries to land a leg kick but Juarez saw it coming and moves away.
Scott Carson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Juarez has a takedown stuffed. Carson throws a sloppy head kick and Juarez moves out of range easily. Carson throws a series of punches but Juarez avoids them all with ease. Carson misses with a low kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Carson. Scott Carson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Juarez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carson paws at him with a jab and circles away. A big left from Carson misses. Carson fails to land with a series of punches.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Juarez. Carson's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Carson duly obliges. Juarez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Carson, pushing him back against the cage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Carson. Juarez wants the takedown. Carson is fighting it off but Juarez persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Carson's guard against the cage. Carson wants to stand up but Juarez is controlling him. Juarez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Juarez scoring with punches to the head and body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Juarez is looking to work some ground and pound but Carson has wrist control. Juarez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Carson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Juarez on the ground. Juarez stands and throws Carson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Juarez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Carson, who protects the arm well. Juarez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Carson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Juarez is looking to take a break and control but Carson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Juarez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Carson, who protects the arm well. Juarez tries for a kimura but Carson is defending well. Juarez in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Juarez is looking to take a break and control but Carson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Carson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Juarez asserts his dominance and retains side control. Juarez goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Carson rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Juarez's guard! Nice work there by Carson! Carson wants to control from the top but Juarez keeps moving. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Carson is looking to work some ground and pound but Juarez has wrist control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Scott Carson will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Carson throws a nice looking combination but Juarez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Carson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Juarez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Carson moves away. Carson misses with a low kick as Juarez jumps back. Juarez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Carson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Carson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Carson misses with a wild combination.
Carson misses with a series of wild punches.
Carson looks to throw the jab but Juarez is out of range. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Carson.
Juarez fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Carson tries to land a leg kick but Juarez saw it coming and moves away.
Danga de danga de dang - Carson scores with a four punch combination! Juarez moves into the clinch successfully.
Carson can't break the clinch.
Juarez looking to stall.
Juarez has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Carson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Carson defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Juarez's arms. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Juarez is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Carson knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Carson for a finish.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carson is taking damage to the body and head. Carson is covering up but some of the strikes from Juarez are getting through and doing damage.
Juarez is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Carson is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Juarez gets his way!
Juarez is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Juarez is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Carson is defending well though. Juarez let's go of the attempt for now. Juarez working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Carson is doing well to defend. Juarez seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Carson is forced to tap and this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Johnson Juarez! Johnson Juarez gave a mention to Steel Penn's Laundry 93% in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
