The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves throws a body punch but Pukki moves out of range.
Pukki missing with a left hand there. Alves was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A telegraphed right hand from Pukki misses the target.
Pukki tries to bum rush Alves with a series of wild strikes but Alves uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A looping hook to the body misses from Alves. Pukki does a little dance to reset his feet.
Alves tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pukki was well out of range. Poor timing from Alves.

Alves tries to move into range but Pukki moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Pukki bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Alves's head.

Pukki tries to clinch but Alves moves out of range.
Alves throws an overhand right that lands on Pukki's shoulder, as Pukki tries to avoid the shot.

Pukki moves into range and clinches up with Alves.
Alves tries to pull guard but Pukki holds him up against the cage and eventually Alves drops back down to his feet.
Alves is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Pukki to keep the fight standing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Pukki breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pukki shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Alves eats them both and turns towards Pukki to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

and Pukki cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Pukki scores with a one two! Alves had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Pukki pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pukki catches Alves with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Alves forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!

Raimo Pukki decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
