Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chris To Short (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Tumbling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tumbling has chosen Heartbreaker as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chris To Short ! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ben Tumbling! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! To Short throws a half hearted mid kick. To Short fails with an attempt to clinch.
To Short has managed to clinch.
To Short gets control of Tumbling's arms and successfully pulls guard. To Short will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Tumbling gets to his feet. To Short looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! To Short fails with a takedown attempt. Tumbling throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by To Short . To Short throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. To Short fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tumbling, pushing him back against the cage. To Short lands a shot to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tumbling is pressed up against the cage. To Short has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tumbling down to the mat. Tumbling avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Tumbling swats away the attempt to clinch by To Short . A jab lands there for Tumbling. To Short tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. To Short checks the leg kick. The fight moves into the clinch position. Tumbling tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and To Short avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from To Short . To Short avoids the elbow strike from Tumbling, against the cage.
To Short is looking to control Tumbling's arms but Tumbling gets an underhook and turns him. Now To Short has his back to the cage. Tumbling tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Tumbling struggles to land a body shot inside as To Short controls his hands.
To Short scores with an uppercut up the middle. Tumbling has had enough of the clinch but To Short keeps him there for the moment. To Short throws a punch but it's blocked by Tumbling. Tumbling tries to break free but To Short pushes him back against the cage. To Short breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Tumbling misses with a wild combination.
Tumbling shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches To Short napping and manages to drive through into side control! To Short is looking to regain half guard here but Tumbling keeps moving and retains side control. Tumbling avoids the strikes from the bottom by To Short . Tumbling wants to lay and pray for a moment but To Short keeps working. To Short tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tumbling wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. To Short wants to get back to his feet. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. To Short is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Tumbling's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. To Short trying to hold on to Tumbling's head to control him but Tumbling postures up.
To Short looking for submissions from an awkward position here. To Short tries to roll over but Tumbling keeps him under control. Tumbling wants to advance to full mount but To Short doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. To Short keeping moving, preventing Tumbling from controlling successfully. Tumbling passes To Short 's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. To Short looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Tumbling thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed To Short 's head. To Short looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. To Short actively working from the bottom here. To Short misses with some strikes from the bottom.
To Short gets full guard. To Short is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Tumbling wants to stand but To Short has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Tumbling preventing the sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. To Short keeping full guard, as Tumbling tries to pass. To Short keeping moving, preventing Tumbling from controlling successfully. To Short is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Tumbling has his hands clasped together but To Short extends an breaks Tumbling's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by To Short .
