The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson tries to clinch but Fitch moves out of range. Jackson misses with a low kick. Fitch throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Fitch cracks Jackson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Jackson avoids a lazy jab quite easily. A big left from Fitch misses. A big left from Fitch misses. Jackson tries to clinch up. Fitch shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Fitch was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson is working to get back to half guard.
Jackson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Fitch tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Jackson can't escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fitch controlling the pace for now. Jackson wants to control but Fitch is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Fitch is taking a breather. Jackson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jon Fitch. Fitch thows a left - swing and a miss! Fitch throws a leg kick that misses. Jackson tries a head kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Fitch dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Fitch throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fitch swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Jackson tries to land a leg kick but Fitch saw it coming and moves away.
Jackson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jackson misses with a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson wants to clinch. A decent looking cross lands there for Fitch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson darts in trying to clinch and Fitch cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Fitch misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jackson.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Jackson rushes Fitch and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson tries to land a knee to the head but Fitch blocks with his arms.
Fitch gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Jackson regains guard.
Jackson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fitch doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Jackson is tightening it up a little... Fitch has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Fitch reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Fitch taps out! Nice BJJ there by Jackson!
