The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sobotta tries to clinch up

and Banks counters by clinching up.

Banks pulls guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Sobotta prevents Banks from getting back to his feet.

Sobotta drops back looking for a leg! Banks is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Banks manages to kick Sobotta off! Sobotta jumps back into Banks's guard.
Banks is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Banks is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sobotta is controlling him.
Sobotta tries to free his leg and advance position but Banks is retaining full guard.
Sobotta wanted to stand there but Banks had control of the position.

Sobotta is working for a kimura but Banks is defending it quite comfortably.

Sobotta is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Banks sees it coming and defends easily.
Sobotta tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Banks.
Banks misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Banks wants to get back to his feet.

Sobotta is looking for a kimura here.

Sobotta is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Banks doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sobotta.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
It looks like Sobotta is going to stand back up.
Banks tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Sobotta maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Banks could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Sobotta has cracked it and Banks is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Sobotta!
