Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zapp Brannigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brannigan comes to the cage accompanied by Jackyl -- The Lumberjack. The crowd seem to be enjoying Doe's choice of entrance music: A Taste Of Regret. Zapp Brannigan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zapp Brannigan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Doe!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brannigan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Doe.
Doe slips a jab from Brannigan.
Doe checks the leg kick.
Doe throws a series of punches but Brannigan avoids them all with ease.

Brannigan has closed the distance and engaged Doe in a clinch.
Brannigan blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Brannigan tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Brannigan struggles to land a body shot inside as Doe controls his hands.
Brannigan lands a body shot.
Doe tries to stall but Brannigan uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Doe is trying to push Brannigan away but Brannigan has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Brannigan lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Doe pushes Brannigan back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Brannigan misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Doe.
Brannigan tries a body shot but Doe blocks it.
A short body shot lands from Brannigan as the two fighters clinch.
Doe tries a body shot but Brannigan blocks it.
Doe stops a takedown attempt from Brannigan.

Brannigan gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Brannigan stops Doe from getting back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Doe can do anything to dispel that myth.
Doe is looking to control Brannigan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Doe avoid being mounted?

Doe tries to get to full guard but Brannigan has control of the leg.

Doe is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Brannigan jumps into side control!

Doe holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.

Doe manages to get to full guard.
Doe not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Doe looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brannigan is one step ahead there.

Brannigan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Doe is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Brannigan defends well.
Doe is trying to keep Brannigan in close.
Doe pulls Brannigan in close to prevent any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK we're going to have a standup here. John Doe hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Brannigan fails with a takedown attempt.
Brannigan misses with a double jab
and Doe counters with a slapping leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Zapp Brannigan will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Brannigan avoids a kick to the body.

Brannigan gets a clinch.
Doe tries to break free but Brannigan pushes him back against the cage.
Brannigan tries to work over Doe's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Doe takes an elbow to the temple.


It looks like John Doe has been cut.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Brannigan as Doe tries to tie him up.
Brannigan pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Brannigan is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Doe can't fight it off and eventually Brannigan manages to take the fight to the floor. Doe looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Doe is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Doe looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Brannigan here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Doe wants to sweep but no luck.
Brannigan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Brannigan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Zapp Brannigan just wasn't active enough.
Brannigan tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Doe ducks under a wild hook from Brannigan.
Brannigan throws a low kick but it's checked well by Doe.
Doe jabs Brannigan to the body, keeping him at a distance.
John Doe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brannigan shoots in for a double leg but Doe sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Doe thows a body shot but no joy.
Brannigan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Brannigan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Doe chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Doe dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Brannigan needs to keep his hands up - Doe had a free shot at his head there.
Good leg kick by Doe there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Brannigan has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Doe.
Doe throws a good cross that connects.
Doe lands a high kick!
Doe lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Doe thumps Brannigan with a low kick.
Doe connects with a solid leg kick.
Doe lands with a slapping head kick.
Doe thows a body kick. Brannigan tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Brannigan takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Doe throws a right and a left that both miss.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
An inside leg kick lands from Doe.
Brannigan is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Doe lands a nice leg kick that just misses Brannigan's sensitive parts.
Brannigan takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Brannigan goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Doe scores with a push kick.
Brannigan has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Zapp Brannigan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Doe pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Doe closes the distance and pushes Brannigan back into the cage.
Doe missing with knees to the body.
Doe scores with an uppercut up the middle.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brannigan lands with a right to the head.
Brannigan is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Doe gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Doe misses with a punch to the body.
Doe is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Brannigan is keeping busy.
Brannigan misses with a hook from the clinch.
Doe connects with a nasty looking knee right to Brannigan's face.
Doe trying to control the position but instead, Brannigan has worked for underhooks and has pushed Doe into the cage.

Doe has had enough of the clinch but Brannigan keeps him there for the moment.
Doe takes a shot to the head.
Brannigan pushes Doe back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Brannigan misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Brannigan lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Brannigan is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Doe is defending well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zapp Brannigan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Brannigan is trying to trip Doe. He has hold of a leg but Doe is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Brannigan persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Doe tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Doe is looking for a triangle but Brannigan pushes his legs off easily.
Zapp Brannigan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Doe wants to stand up but Brannigan is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Doe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on John Doe's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Doe leaves Brannigan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Doe scores with a jab. Brannigan acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

and Doe counters with a stiff right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brannigan is rocked!
Doe has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Doe drops Brannigan with a huge uppercut! Brannigan drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Doe is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Doe!
John Doe decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
