Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and aaron morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rua closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming morris to the mat! morris manages to get full guard.
morris preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
morris not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rua throws a strike but morris rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Rua looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rua throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Rua moves in looking to clinch but morris pushes him off.
Rua shoots in but morris avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rua shoots in for a takedown but morris shows good takedown defense.
Rua shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has morris pinned against the cage. morris gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fedor Rua. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
morris doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Rua postures up in morris's guard and throws a big left but morris blocks it.

morris is looking to sinch up a triangle. Rua throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to morris's body to avoid the submission. morris has instead reached around Rua's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! morris arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
