Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mongoose Russian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cottontail Rabbit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cottontail Rabbit is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 52 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cottontail Rabbit!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russian closes the distance and pushes Rabbit back into the cage.
Russian is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Rabbit can't fight it off and eventually Russian manages to take the fight to the floor. Rabbit looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Russian stands up from Rabbit's guard - Russian perhaps looking for a knockout.
Rabbit gets caught flat footed, as Russian shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Russian not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Russian stands and steps away. Rabbit gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rabbit pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Russian manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Rabbit on his heels. He'll look to pass Rabbit's guard now, I'm sure.
Russian's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Russian tries to free his leg and advance position but Rabbit is retaining full guard.
Russian keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rabbit's head.
Russian stands up from Rabbit's guard - Russian perhaps looking for a knockout.
Russian lands an overhand right.
Russian scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Russian has hold of Rabbit's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Rabbit seems comfortable defending it but Russian has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Rabbit is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Rabbit is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Russian couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mongoose Russian!
