Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Sims (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva's entrance music is Rob Kelly feat.Slaine - Dropkicked. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sims staying out of range there.
Silva takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Silva tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
A head kick misses from Silva.
Silva swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Silva throws a sloppy head kick and Sims moves out of range easily.
Silva looks to land a combination but Sims avoids it well.
Silva takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Sims connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Sims looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Sims has closed the distance and engaged Silva in a clinch.

Sims has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Silva uses from the top position.

Sims working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Silva wants to control from the top but Sims keeps moving.
Silva will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Sims has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sims looking for a sweep. Not yet Sims, not yet.
Sims wants to hit a switch here but Silva passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Sims there!

Silva lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sims is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Sims counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Silva's guard now.
Sims stands and throws Silva's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Sims thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva is trying to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sims tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sims has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Silva really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Silva is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sims's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Silva is trying to stand up here but Sims is controlling him well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sims tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.
Silva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Sims thows a big elbow that misses.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Sims counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sims throws a right and a left that Silva avoids nicely.
Miguel Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sims uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Silva.
Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Sims.
Silva chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sims can pounce on him.
Silva misses with a double jab
and Sims makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Sims changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Sims manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Miguel Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silva throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sims sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Sims moves away from the strike by Silva.
Silva misses with a body shot.
Silva tries to land a front kick but Sims steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A combination from Sims does no damage.
Silva misses with a hook.
Silva tries to clinch up.
Silva throws a lazy right hand but Sims sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Sims counters with a nice leg kick.
Sims throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Silva clinches but Sims breaks the clinch
and Sims counters with a slapping leg kick.
Sims shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silva as he jumps to the side.
Silva throws a lazy right hand but Sims sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Sims is looking to slow Silva down with leg kicks.
Silva looks to land a combination. Sims sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Sims stalks Silva and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Silva's face. Silva staggers backwards, shaken.
Silva throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Sims stumbling backwards into the cage! Sims bounces back off the cage towards Silva, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Silva lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Silva celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
