The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kukuev looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Speed throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Kukuev drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kukuev jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Speed is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kukuev postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Speed is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kukuev, into his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kukuev is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Speed has his hands clasped together but Kukuev extends an breaks Speed's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Kukuev.
