PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Ellenberger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rainn Hewitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellenberger's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Guano Apes - Open Your Eyes. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Ellenberger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rainn Hewitt!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick there by Hewitt.
A big left from Hewitt misses.
Hewitt dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ellenberger. That did some damage!

Ellenberger closes the distance and clinches up with Hewitt, looking for a takedown. Ellenberger pushes Hewitt against the cage but Hewitt circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ellenberger shoots for a takedown but Hewitt saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Hewitt preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Hewitt tries to roll over but Ellenberger keeps him under control.

Ellenberger takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hewitt can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hewitt tries to roll over but Ellenberger keeps him under control.
Ellenberger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hewitt is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ellenberger tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hewitt sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ellenberger somewhat.

Rainn Hewitt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Hewitt manages to break the clinch.
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Hewitt throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Ellenberger is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!
