Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brent McNeil! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dom Stansky! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stansky drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. McNeil is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Stansky wants to pass the guard but McNeil is keeping the position. Stansky advances position into side control! Stansky trying to control the action but McNeil is working from the bottom. McNeil is looking for a sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stansky wants to control but McNeil is keeping him busy. Stansky landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. McNeil is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. McNeil wants to control but Stansky is keeping busy.
Stansky is looking to take a break and control but McNeil is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stansky is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

McNeil won't allow Stansky to pass to mount. Stansky trying to control the action but McNeil is working from the bottom. Stansky is looking for a kimura but McNeil is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Stansky to get the leverage.

McNeil looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. McNeil is thwarting Stansky's attempts to control the position. Stansky tries to get to full guard but McNeil has control of the leg.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McNeil seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stansky does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Stansky looking for submissions from an awkward position here. McNeil is looking for a kimura but Stansky is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McNeil to get the leverage. Stansky gets back to full guard.
Stansky is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stansky pulls McNeil in to control the position. McNeil trying to control the position from guard on top but Stansky is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stansky wants to sweep here but McNeil controlling him for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dom Stansky dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
McNeil shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Stansky napping and manages to drive through into side control! Dom Stansky has got the better of the ground game so far. Stansky gets back to half guard. Stansky looking for submissions from an awkward position here. McNeil seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Stansky makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Stansky. McNeil stopping the sweep attempt from Stansky. McNeil wants to control from the top but Stansky keeps moving. Stansky looking for a guillotine here but McNeil defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stansky keeping full guard, as McNeil tries to pass. McNeil preventing the sweep. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Stansky is on top in guard.
McNeil wants to stand up but Stansky is controlling him. Stansky not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Stansky working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Stansky advances to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McNeil is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Stansky pulls his head out easily. Stansky wants to free his trapped foot but McNeil is holding on for dear life with his legs. McNeil wants to improve his position but Stansky is controlling well.

McNeil slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Stansky in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. McNeil wants to stand up but Stansky is controlling him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Stansky passes McNeil's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Stansky is looking to take a break and control but McNeil is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Stansky seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. McNeil is looking to escape. Stansky wants to take a breather but McNeil is having none of it.

Stansky fails to take his opponent's back. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stansky landing punches. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stansky looking to control but McNeil is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Stansky jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but McNeil manages to avoid the submission attempt. McNeil is not content to let Stansky control the position. Stansky fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. McNeil sprawls well initially but Stansky persists and gets the takedown into half guard. McNeil pushes Stansky off looking to stand but Stansky dives back in and keeps control.
