Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ronaldo De Sousa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Hearns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hearns is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Black Eyed Bruiser. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ronaldo De Sousa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thomas Hearns! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Sousa tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. De Sousa takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Hearns tries to close the distance and clinch up but De Sousa swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hearns dodges the punch combination from De Sousa.
De Sousa throws a hook but Hearns blocks it. Hearns fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A nice leg kick lands there from Hearns. De Sousa avoids the head kick by Hearns.
De Sousa shoots in and bounces Hearns off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Hearns is looking to stand back up but De Sousa counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Hearns. Hearns wants to get back to his feet. De Sousa is working for a submission of some sort.
Hearns pushes De Sousa off looking to stand but De Sousa dives back in and keeps control.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! De Sousa is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hearns makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Hearns misses with a two punch combination.
Hearns throws a head kick but De Sousa moves out of range.
Hearns looks to throw the jab but De Sousa is out of range. De Sousa fails with the takedown. Hearns lands a nice leg kick that just misses De Sousa's sensitive parts. Hearns leaves De Sousa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hearns tries to close the distance and clinch up but De Sousa swats him away and circles back towards the center. De Sousa fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ronaldo De Sousa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hearns cracks De Sousa with a good jab. Thomas Hearns is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. This has been an exciting period of action! De Sousa sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. De Sousa is breathing heavily. De Sousa takes a kick to the side of the head. Hearns defends well against a solid takedown attempt from De Sousa. Hearns scores with a crisp jab that stopped De Sousa in his tracks. Hearns looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hearns gets a clinch. Hearns pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Good leg kick by Hearns there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

De Sousa closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Hearns makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Thomas Hearns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hearns lands a nice looking body kick. De Sousa steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Hearns. That one must have hurt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hearns throws a quick head kick that skims the top of De Sousa's head. De Sousa walks forward, straight into a front kick from Hearns. Hearns moves into the clinch successfully.
Hearns pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from De Sousa. Hearns throws a sloppy head kick and De Sousa moves out of range easily. De Sousa takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
De Sousa takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Hearns clinches up with De Sousa and pushes him back against the cage. This has been an exciting period of action! De Sousa is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hearns pulls him back up using the underhooks. Hearns's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. De Sousa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hearns as he jumps to the side. Hearns scores with a punch to the head. Hearns listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hearns has De Sousa up against the cage in a clinch.
Hearns has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Hearns manages to break the clinch.
De Sousa walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Hearns gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Hearns breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hearns connects with a right hand. De Sousa shakes it off. A jab lands there for Hearns. De Sousa misses the shot to the body. De Sousa throws a jab but it's blocked by Hearns. Hearns is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. De Sousa has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hearns. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hearns clinches up against the cage. De Sousa is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Hearns breaks the clinch.
Hearns lands a jab to the nose. Hearns thuds his shin into the meat of De Sousa's side. Jab by Hearns. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

De Sousa will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. De Sousa shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Hearns fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and De Sousa has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hearns, right into the meat.
De Sousa shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hearns eats them both and turns towards De Sousa to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. De Sousa takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

De Sousa has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Hearns. De Sousa tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. De Sousa walks forward, straight into a front kick from Hearns. Hearns keeps De Sousa at a distance using the push kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hearns sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks De Sousa to the ground! Hearns dives into full mount looking to finish!
De Sousa is rocked! Hearns controlling the position easily from mount. Oh De Sousa is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! De Sousa keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Hearns sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. De Sousa seems to have got his legs back now. Hearns has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hearns gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Hearns gets in close and instigates a clinch. Hearns breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Thomas Hearns seems to be getting the better of the standup. Hearns scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Nice takedown defense from Hearns. No joy for De Sousa on that attempt. Hearns lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Hearns uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before De Sousa has time to react. Hearns moves into the clinch. Hearns escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hearns throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on De Sousa's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Hearns dives in looking to finish as De Sousa flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Hearns's strikes! Hearns is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! De Sousa's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but De Sousa was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
