Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wilson Waters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cpl. Steve Henshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve Henshaw. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Wilson Waters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Cpl. Steve Henshaw!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henshaw misses with a low kick as Waters jumps back.
Waters misses with a looping right.
Sloppy strikes from Waters. Those never looked like landing.
A swing and a miss from Waters.
Henshaw tries to land a front kick but Waters steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Henshaw gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Henshaw is keen to just control but Waters is a slippery customer.
Henshaw is stalling here. Waters is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Henshaw seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Waters has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Waters throws an elbow but Henshaw slips to the side and avoids it well.

Henshaw tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Henshaw manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Henshaw wants to lay and pray for a moment but Waters keeps working.

Waters tries to roll over but Henshaw keeps him under control.
Henshaw frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Henshaw is looking to stall here but Waters recovers full guard.
Henshaw tries to free his leg and advance position but Waters is retaining full guard.
Henshaw sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Waters's guard.
Henshaw takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Henshaw passes to full mount!

Waters tries to lock up and control but Henshaw gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Waters keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Waters wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Henshaw.

Henshaw throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Waters is in all sorts of trouble here.
Henshaw trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Waters really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Waters fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Henshaw bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

The fighters circling - Waters throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Waters is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Henshaw attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Henshaw shoots in for a takedown but Waters shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Waters throws a nice looking combination but Henshaw bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Cpl. Steve Henshaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Henshaw closes the distance and clinches.
Waters changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Henshaw fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Some wild striking there from Waters.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Waters stalks Henshaw and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Henshaw's face. Henshaw staggers backwards, shaken.
Waters throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Henshaw.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A looping hook to the body misses from Henshaw. Waters does a little dance to reset his feet.

A close second round but Cpl. Steve Henshaw will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Henshaw controls Waters momentarily but Waters frees himself.

Waters is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Henshaw is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Henshaw has escaped and now he's on top!

I would just about give that final round to Cpl. Steve Henshaw.
Well Henshaw has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
