Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Martin Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Martin Walter has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Martin Walter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Larry Shaw! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walter throws a right and a left that both miss. Walter throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Shaw. Shaw has his takedown stuffed and Walter counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Shaw tries for a takedown but Walter circles away easily and Walter makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Martin Walter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Larry Shaw. Walter misses with a jab, cross combination.
Walter throws a hook to the side of Shaw's head but Shaw sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Walter throws a one two combo.
Nice takedown defense from Walter. No joy for Shaw on that attempt. Shaw closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Walter's guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Shaw lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shaw won't allow Walter to get back to his feet. Walter keeping moving, preventing Shaw from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shaw working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Shaw won't allow Walter to get back to his feet. Shaw postures up in Walter's guard and throws a big left but Walter blocks it. Walter wants to stand and escape but Shaw is having none of it. Shaw throws a big elbow that misses. Shaw drops back looking for a leg! Walter is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Walter manages to kick Shaw off! Shaw jumps back into Walter's guard. Shaw wants to control from the top but Walter keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shaw pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Walter is keeping the position for now. Walter wants to stand up but Shaw is controlling him. Shaw looking to sit in guard and control but Walter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Shaw looking for a guillotine here but Walter defends easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shaw can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaw controlling the position. Shaw will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Walter wants to stand but Shaw is controlling his posture from full guard. Walter stopping the sweep attempt from Shaw.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walter gets to his feet - Shaw follows without any prompting. Sloppy strikes from Walter. Those never looked like landing. Shaw shoots in for a double leg but Walter sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Walter fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Shaw. Walter fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Shaw checks it well. Walter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shaw manages to avoid it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Shaw slips a jab and a cross from Walter.
Shaw avoids a kick to the body.
Shaw tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Walter swivels and escapes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Larry Shaw will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Horrible takedown by Shaw or perhaps it was just good defense by Walter which made him look bad. Shaw tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Walter swivels and escapes. Walter blocks the body kick.
Walter dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Walter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shaw takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. No luck for Shaw with that takedown attempt. Martin Walter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Larry Shaw. Walter misses with a wild body shot. Walter fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walter lands with a shot to the body. Walter is looking to wear down Shaw with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Shaw misses with a takedown attempt - Walter sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Walter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Shaw shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Walter as he jumps to the side. Shaw shoots in but Walter avoids the takedown attempt easily. Shaw is breathing heavily. Walter lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Larry Shaw has been cut. Walter misses the shot to the body. Walter misses with a combination
and Shaw counters with a single leg into guard. Walter didn't expect that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Walter wants to get back to his feet but Shaw is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Shaw wants to control from the top but Walter keeps moving. Shaw stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walter swivels though and keeps the full guard. Shaw prevents Walter from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walter keeping moving, preventing Shaw from controlling successfully.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Larry Shaw was stalling too much, according to the referee. Shaw shoots in looking for a takedown but Walter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shaw's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Walter tries to score with a low kick but Shaw moves his leg out of the way. Walter fails to land with a series of punches.
Walter misses with a two punch combination.
Walter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walter throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Shaw sees it coming and avoids it easily. Shaw throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Walter's waist but Walter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shaw off to one side. Shaw looks for a takedown but Walter sprawls well. Shaw checks the leg kick. Shaw tries for a takedown but Walter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. The fighters circle momentarily. Walter darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Walter stuffs the takedown. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Walter chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Good shot there by Walter. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Martin Walter dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Larry Shaw's cut. That's time! Walter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Walter thows a body shot but no joy. Walter lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Walter fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Shaw on the side of the head. A punch combination from Walter misses. Shaw changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Walter tries to avoid it but Shaw manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Walter to the ground. Walter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Martin Walter is winning the standup battle so far. Shaw uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Walter. Walter lands a leg kick that knocks Shaw off balance momentarily. Walter misses with a shot to the body so Shaw counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Shaw loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Walter wants to stand and escape but Shaw is having none of it. Shaw drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Walter manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Shaw has Walter in his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shaw looking for a sweep. Not yet Shaw, not yet. Larry Shaw has got the better of the ground game so far. Walter wanted to stand there but Shaw had control of the position. Shaw is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Walter is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Shaw scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shaw looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Walter pushes Shaw off looking to stand but Shaw dives back in and keeps control.
Shaw wants to take a breather but Walter is having none of it. Shaw missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Walter is staying active underneath Shaw, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Shaw throws a strike but Walter avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Shaw pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Walter is keeping the position for now. Walter wants to stand but Shaw is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaw with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Shaw trying to control but Walter is working from the bottom. Shaw throws a big right hand that misses. Shaw scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Shaw throwing strikes from guard but Walter blocks nicely. Walter being controlled here, momentarily. Shaw landing some decent shots from guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shaw wants to control from the top but Walter keeps moving. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shaw accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Walter keeping moving, preventing Shaw from controlling successfully. Shaw pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Walter is keeping the position for now. Shaw won't allow Walter to get back to his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shaw's corner is telling him to maintain position.
And that's the end of the fight! Larry Shaw comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Shaw has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
