The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dinsmore shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Kakala looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Dinsmore! Kakala punching from mount but Dinsmore doing a good job of avoiding damage. Kakala sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Kakala thowing shots but they're missing. Kakala jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Dinsmore manages to avoid the submission attempt. Dinsmore is looking for a sweep. Kakala tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Kakala is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dinsmore knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Dinsmore is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Kakala is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Kakala working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Kakala misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Dinsmore bucks Kakala off and manages to get back to his feet! Dinsmore misses with a takedown and Kakala counters with a takedown into side control. Dinsmore is looking to regain half guard here but Kakala keeps moving and retains side control. Kakala tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dinsmore sneaks back into half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Dinsmore looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Dinsmore looks gassed! Kakala is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kakala tries to pass to full mount but Dinsmore defends it. Dinsmore is trying to control but can't.
Kakala thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dinsmore's head. Kakala is trying to control the action in half guard but Dinsmore is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Kakala is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Dinsmore has managed to free his arm - good work. Kakala throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Kakala looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dinsmore works his way to full guard. Good work. Kakala in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kakala trying to control the position from guard on top but Dinsmore is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kakala thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Kakala is looking to work some ground and pound but Dinsmore has wrist control. Kakala is pushing down on Dinsmore's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dinsmore is fighting to maintain full guard but Kakala has managed to sneak the leg through. Kakala looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dinsmore is pressing down on Kakala's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Dinsmore escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kakala gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kakala avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dinsmore throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Dinsmore looking for a sweep. Not yet Dinsmore, not yet. Dinsmore looking to control but Kakala passes into half guard.
Kakala is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Dinsmore gets back to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kakala trying to control but Dinsmore is working from the bottom. Kakala has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Kakala preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ongoto Kakala dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Dinsmore gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Kakala thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Kakala throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dinsmore works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Dinsmore lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kakala! Kakala is trying to escape the mount.
Dinsmore is working for a guillotine from mount but Kakala frees his head quite easily.
Dinsmore goes for an armbar but Kakala turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Kakala. Kakala wants to control from the top but Dinsmore keeps moving. Dinsmore is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kakala in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Kakala drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kakala jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Kakala wants to pass the guard but Dinsmore is keeping the position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kakala accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kakala sitting in guard here, content to control. Kakala advances position into side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dinsmore is trying to get back to half guard. Kakala advances to full mount. Kakala pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Dinsmore is looking to get to half guard. Kakala thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Dinsmore keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Dinsmore regains half guard. Dinsmore is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kakala's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kakala's back! A lull in the action here.
Dinsmore misses with an elbow to the head. Kakala is in bad spot here.
Kakala is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dinsmore gets his way!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dinsmore missing with strikes. Dinsmore doesn't have the hooks in and Kakala manages to turn into his guard.
Kakala slips nicely into half guard. Dinsmore tries to roll over but Kakala keeps him under control. Kakala looks to land a strike but Dinsmore avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Dinsmore keeping full guard, as Kakala tries to pass. Kakala is looking to advance position but Dinsmore has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Kakala manages to regain half guard. Good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kakala gets full guard. Kakala keeping moving, preventing Dinsmore from controlling successfully. Ongoto Kakala overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Dinsmore tries to free his leg and advance position but Kakala is retaining full guard. Kakala trying to control the position.
Dinsmore pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kakala is keeping the position for now. Dinsmore passes Kakala's left leg - he's now in half guard. Dinsmore is working for a submission of some sort.

Ongoto Kakala dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kakala is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dinsmore can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Kakala moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Dinsmore has worked his arm free - good work by Dinsmore!

That's one minute gone in the round. Dinsmore prevents Kakala from improving position. Kakala is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dinsmore has escaped the position, nice work there. Dinsmore regains half guard. Kakala looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kakala wants to free his trapped foot but Dinsmore is holding on for dear life with his legs. Kakala moves into full mount! Dinsmore won't be happy about that!

Kakala thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Kakala working for a submission but Dinsmore is keeping him at bay. Kakala throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Dinsmore has his hands clasped together but Kakala breaks the hold and Dinsmore is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Kakala!
