Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Ferro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Edgar might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rick Ross- The Boss. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anderson Edgar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Jerry Ferro!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferro shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Edgar sprawls well. Edgar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ferro gets slowly back to his feet.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Edgar. Ferro shrugs it off though.
Edgar throws a leg kick which misses Ferro's front leg but catches the back leg as Ferro tries to avoid it.

Edgar lands a left and a right that sends Ferro crashing to the canvas! Edgar dives into mount looking to finish!

Edgar lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Edgar is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ferro is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Edgar tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Edgar has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Edgar is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Ferro defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Ferro just trying to survive but Edgar is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Edgar is trying to stick to Ferro's back but Ferro is turning into Edgar. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Edgar's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Ferro.

Ferro keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Edgar's head.

Ferro has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Edgar is proving hard to escape from.

Edgar throws a nice looking combination but Ferro bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Edgar goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
The fighters circling - Ferro throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Edgar lands an elbow that stopped Ferro in his tracks for a moment.
Ferro has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Edgar misses with a knee strike.
Edgar tries to land knees in the clinch but Ferro avoids the damage to the body.

Edgar is pressed up against the cage. Ferro has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Edgar down to the mat. Edgar avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Jerry Ferro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ferro is trying desperately to land a takedown but Edgar is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Ferro.

Ferro has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Edgar.

Edgar dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ferro. That did some damage!

Ferro shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Edgar but Edgar pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ferro closes the distance and clinches up with Edgar, looking for a takedown. Ferro pushes Edgar against the cage but Edgar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ferro thows a body shot but no joy.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ferro crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Edgar - the referee stops the clock and Ferro gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Edgar. Ferro manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Edgar throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ferro.
Edgar tries to clinch up but Ferro circles away and keeps his distance.
Horrible takedown by Ferro or perhaps it was just good defense by Edgar which made him look bad.

Edgar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Ferro got a little sloppy there for a moment and Edgar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ferro has managed to get both his arms back between Edgar's legs - danger averted.
