Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Victor Sagat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Bruce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sagat might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Top Shotter. Victor Sagat could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Joseph Bruce's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Victor Sagat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joseph Bruce!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sagat feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Bruce's calf.

Bruce gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Bruce prevents a body shot from Sagat.
Sagat looking to stall.
Bruce trying to stall but Sagat improves his position.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Bruce.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Sagat tries to stall but Bruce uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Sagat lands with a left to the head.
A bit of stalling here from Sagat.

Bruce breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bruce misses with a wild combination.
Sagat is looking to land body kicks.
A swing and a miss from Bruce.

Bruce misses with the combination.
Sagat thuds his right hand into Bruce's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Bruce rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sagat moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sagat cracks the inside of Bruce's front leg.
Sagat tries to clinch but Bruce moves out of range.
Bruce lands a jab to Sagat's midsection.
Sagat swings away with a leg kick that misses.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bruce swinging wildly here.
Joseph Bruce seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bruce keeps the fight on the outside.
Sagat tries to clinch up.
Bruce throws a series of punches but Sagat avoids them all with ease.
Bruce stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Sagat.

Sagat wants to clinch.
Bruce tries to bum rush Sagat with a series of wild strikes but Sagat uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Bruce clinches up with Sagat and pushes him back against the ropes.
Bruce lands with a light punch inside.
A short body shot lands from Bruce as the two fighters clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Sagat.
Bruce stalling.
Bruce working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Bruce manages to break the clinch.
Sagat with a hook.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bruce. Sagat does a little dance to reset his feet.

Bruce staggers Sagat with a jab and knocks him down with a follow up straight! Sagat looks in trouble, will he beat the count?! The count has reached 5 and he's only back to 1 knee - it's going to be close! 6,7,8 - he's up! Just in time and the ref is going to let the fight continue!


It looks like Victor Sagat has been cut.

Bruce gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Bruce is trying to stall.
Bruce has Sagat pressed against the ropes.
Sagat tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Bruce scores with a nice hook to the head.
Bruce misses with the head strike.
Sagat tries to land knees in the clinch but Bruce avoids the damage to the body.
Bruce is pushing Sagat up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Sagat lands with a right to the head.
Bruce is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Bruce blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Bruce misses with a short punch on the inside.
Bruce effectively controlling the action here.
Sagat scores with a knee to the head.


It looks like Joseph Bruce has been cut.
Sagat wants to stall.
Bruce works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bruce creates a bit of space for himself and unleashed what can only be described as a tiger uppercut, straight out of Street Fighter! Sagat crashes to the mat! Can he make it back to his feet in time? 3,4,5,6... it doesn't look like he's going to make it! Sagat face plants back to the mat and the referee calls off the fight! Bruce takes it with a brutal technical knockout!
