Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Oliver Jahn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Damien Short! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Taro Takaoka and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slow jab from Short misses its intended target. Short blocks a head kick by Jahn.
Oliver Jahn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jahn throws the left hand but Short avoids the punch easily. Short keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jahn looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Jahn jabbing away but nothing is landing. Short misses with a few strikes there.
Nice shot lands for Short. Short has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Jahn lands a big right hand that sends Short crashing to the mat! Jahn stays standing though and waves Short back to his feet!
Short is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Short leaves his chin hanging out and Jahn seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Short crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Oliver Jahn! After the fight, Oliver Jahn was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
