Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacob Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thindra Hansson!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller fails with the takedown
and Hansson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Hansson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Hansson looking to sit in guard and control but Miller gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Miller wants to pass the guard but Hansson is keeping the position.
Hansson looking for a sweep. Not yet Hansson, not yet.
Miller won't allow Hansson to get back to his feet.
Hansson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Miller. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hansson striking off his back but it's not causing Miller any problems.
Miller loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Miller is breathing heavily.
Miller postures up.
Miller avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hansson keeping moving, preventing Miller from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hansson wants to get back to his feet but Miller is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hansson doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Hansson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Miller got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hansson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Miller has managed to get both his arms back between Hansson's legs - danger averted.
Miller wants to control from the top but Hansson keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Miller drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Miller jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hansson is looking for a triangle but Miller pushes his legs off easily.
Hansson looking for a sweep. Not yet Hansson, not yet.
Miller throws an elbow that misses. Hansson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Miller's guard. Nice move by Hansson!
Hansson is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Miller has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hansson is looking to defend but Miller has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hansson! Miller pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hansson taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jacob Miller!
