Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wyatt Babineaux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Monika Szlesz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wyatt Babineaux ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Monika Szlesz! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Szlesz has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Babineaux . Szlesz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Babineaux .
Szlesz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Babineaux sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Szlesz somewhat. Szlesz shoots in for a takedown but Babineaux shows good takedown defense. Babineaux tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Babineaux pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Szlesz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Babineaux as he avoids it easily. Wyatt Babineaux has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Monika Szlesz.

Wyatt Babineaux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Babineaux closes the distance and clinches up with Szlesz, looking for a takedown. Babineaux pushes Szlesz against the cage but Szlesz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Babineaux throws a nice looking combination but Szlesz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Babineaux shoots in for a takedown but Szlesz shows good takedown defense. No luck for Szlesz with that takedown attempt. Szlesz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Babineaux swivels and escapes. A head kick misses from Babineaux . Szlesz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Babineaux as he jumps to the side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wyatt Babineaux dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Szlesz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Babineaux paws at him with a jab and circles away. Babineaux throws a sloppy head kick and Szlesz moves out of range easily. Horrible takedown by Szlesz or perhaps it was just good defense by Babineaux which made him look bad. Babineaux fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Szlesz forces Babineaux back against the cage and clinches. Szlesz wants the takedown. Babineaux is fighting it off but Szlesz persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Babineaux 's guard against the cage. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Babineaux has control of Szlesz's left arm, preventing Szlesz from doing any damage. Szlesz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's one minute gone in the round. Szlesz looking to sit in guard and control but Babineaux gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Babineaux wants to control from the top but Szlesz keeps moving. Babineaux throwing strikes but missing. Szlesz looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Szlesz throws his legs up looking for a submission but Babineaux uses it to pass to side control.
Babineaux content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Babineaux cracks Szlesz with an elbow. That is naaassty.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Szlesz is trying to buck Babineaux off. Babineaux throws a strike aimed at the side of Szlesz's head but Szlesz avoids it well. Babineaux just content to control the position. Babineaux is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Szlesz is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Babineaux tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Babineaux has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Szlesz is trying to improve his position. Babineaux trying to control the position but Szlesz is working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Babineaux is really struggling to control Szlesz but he's trying to hold on to the position. Szlesz is looking to regain half guard here but Babineaux keeps moving and retains side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Szlesz is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Babineaux 's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Szlesz manages to get to full guard.
Babineaux controlling from the top position. Babineaux advances position into side control! Babineaux tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Babineaux moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Szlesz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Babineaux , pushing him back against the cage. Szlesz jumps guard but Babineaux turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Babineaux manages to break the clinch.

And that's the end of the fight! Wyatt Babineaux showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Babineaux , winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
