The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aguiar tries to clinch up but Thiago circles away and keeps his distance.
Thiago looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Aguiar works over Thiago's head and body with a nice combination.
It looks like Paul Thiago has been cut.
Aguiar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Aguiar closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Thiago to the mat! Thiago manages to get full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Thiago seems to have recovered his senses.

Aguiar has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Thiago avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Aguiar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Thiago is trying to stand.
Aguiar wants to take a breather but Thiago is having none of it.

Aguiar seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
