The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bak lands a head kick!
Bak shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bates defends it nicely.
Bates closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bates trying to control the position but Bak is working away.
Bates lands a nice forearm strike.
Bates is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Bak is trying to escape and Bates transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Bak is forced to tap! Nice work there by Bates! Very nice indeed!
