Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tatsuyo Hayate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Block Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liddell comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Slayer - Raining Blood kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Block Liddell was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tatsuyo Hayate! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Block Liddell! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hayate throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Liddell walks into a left hand. Hayate waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Liddell. Hayate lands with a cross. Liddell walks into a jab. This has been an exciting period of action! A looping hook to the body misses from Hayate. Liddell does a little dance to reset his feet. Hayate thows a body shot but no joy. Liddell lands a head kick. Hayate smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Liddell goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Hayate throws a sloppy head kick and Liddell moves out of range easily. Liddell tries a head kick but it misses.

and Liddell counters with a nice uppercut. Liddell connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Hayate is looking to score with low kicks. Liddell scores with a jab. Hayate acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Liddell throws a nice head kick!
Hayate looks to throw the jab but Liddell is out of range. Liddell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hayate.
Hayate throws a right hand that Liddell ducks under and follows up with a left that Liddell also avoids with ease. Liddell looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Liddell takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Liddell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Liddell takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A big right from Hayate misses. Hayate throws a leg kick and Liddell counters with a body kick that stops Hayate in his tracks momentarily. Liddell misses with a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hayate loads up on a big right hand but Liddell slips the punch. Liddell connects with a body shot that sends Hayate's belly button to the back. Liddell tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hayate was well out of range. Poor timing from Liddell. Hayate walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Liddell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Hayate fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Liddell sprawls well initially but Hayate persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Liddell is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Liddell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hayate. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hayate wants to lay and pray for a moment but Liddell keeps working. Liddell is concentrating on defense, preventing Hayate from advancing position. Liddell wants to get back to full guard. Liddell is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hayate missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Liddell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hayate is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Hayate prevents Liddell from improving his position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Liddell can do anything to dispel that myth. Liddell is trying to control but can't.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hayate has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Liddell manages to regain half guard. Good work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tatsuyo Hayate will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Liddell stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Hayate cracks Liddell with an open hand slap. Liddell throws a quick inside leg kick. Block Liddell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Liddell misses with a head kick.

Hayate is looking to take a break and control but Liddell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Liddell sneaks back into half guard. Liddell keeping control of the position. Liddell won't allow Hayate to pass to mount. Hayate throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hayate is keen to just control but Liddell is a slippery customer. Liddell on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Liddell is controlling Hayate's trapped leg to prevent Hayate from advancing to side control. Hayate passes to side control. Liddell is not content to let Hayate control the position. Liddell is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddell sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Liddell is trying to get back to full guard. Hayate working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Hayate lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Liddell is trying to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hayate trying to pass the guard but Liddell defending well. Hayate wants to lay and pray for a moment but Liddell keeps working. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hayate is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Liddell defends it well.
And that's the end of the fight! Tatsuyo Hayate showed his dominance in that final round. I think Hayate has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
