Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kim Figueroa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Figueroa comes to the cage accompanied by Ride the Lighting. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tate dives in and grabs Figueroa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Figueroa pushes down on Tate's head and hops out.

Tate must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Figueroa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Tate tries to roll over but Figueroa keeps him under control.

Tate pulls Figueroa in close to his closed guard and prevents Figueroa from doing any damage or advancing position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tate manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Figueroa manages to get himself to full guard.

Tate postures up in Figueroa's guard and throws a big left but Figueroa blocks it.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Figueroa had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tate defends it easily.
Figueroa manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tate manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Figueroa tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Tate manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Tate chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Figueroa can pounce on him.

Tate misses with a takedown attempt - Figueroa sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Figueroa throws a front kick aimed at Tate's knee but Tate avoids it well.

and Tate counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Figueroa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tate shoots in for a takedown but Figueroa shows good takedown defense.

Horrible takedown by Tate or perhaps it was just good defense by Figueroa which made him look bad.

Figueroa does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

An inside leg kick lands from Figueroa.
Figueroa steps in with a hook that catches Tate right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Figueroa follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Tate looks absolutely devastated.
