Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Will Shuler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zhenya Ciunchik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Will Shuler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zhenya Ciunchik!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ciunchik is defended easily by Shuler.
Ciunchik has a takedown stuffed.
Shuler moves into the clinch successfully.
Shuler prevents a takedown attempt there.
Will Shuler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zhenya Ciunchik.
Shuler pulls guard successfully.
Shuler is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ciunchik is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Ciunchik postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Shuler is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ciunchik, into his guard.

Shuler gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Shuler lands a nice looking body shot.
Ciunchik changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shuler tries to avoid it but Ciunchik manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shuler to the ground. Shuler escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Shuler fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
It looks like Zhenya Ciunchik has been cut.
Shuler clinches up with Ciunchik and pushes him back against the cage.
Shuler tries a knee to the head but Ciunchik blocks it.
Ciunchik is trying to drag Shuler to the mat but Shuler just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Ciunchik wants to take the fight to the mat but Shuler manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Shuler pulls Ciunchik into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shuler is trying to control the position but Ciunchik postures up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ciunchik trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Ciunchik prevents Shuler from getting back to his feet.
Shuler is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ciunchik drops back, looking for a kneebar! Shuler looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Shuler looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Shuler!
Shuler throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Ciunchik works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Shuler is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Shuler thows a huge punch but Ciunchik dodges it nicely.
Shuler decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Shuler tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Shuler has taken the fight to the clinch.
Shuler is pressed up against the cage. Ciunchik has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Shuler down to the mat. Shuler avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Shuler stuffs the takedown.
Nice sprawl there from Shuler as Ciunchik shoots in.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ciunchik.

Shuler misses with a few strikes there.
Ciunchik fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Shuler to the ground. Ciunchik is now in Shuler's guard.
Ciunchik looks gassed!
Ciunchik postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ciunchik tries to free his leg and advance position but Shuler is retaining full guard.
Shuler manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ciunchik manages to get himself to full guard.
Shuler throws a strike but Ciunchik rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shuler is trying to keep Ciunchik in close.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Shuler pushes Ciunchik up against the cage in a clinch.
Ciunchik tries for a takedown. No joy.
Shuler throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Ciunchik blocks it with crossed arms.
Shuler pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Will Shuler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ciunchik drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ciunchik cracks Shuler with a big right hand but Shuler just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Shuler takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Shuler tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Shuler is working hard here to advance position.

Ciunchik goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Shuler has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Ciunchik but great work by Shuler.
Will Shuler overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Shuler thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Shuler stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Ciunchik shoots in but Shuler avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ciunchik tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shuler swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Shuler pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ciunchik fails with a takedown attempt.
Will Shuler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zhenya Ciunchik.

Ciunchik gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Shuler distracts Ciunchik with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Ciunchik keeping moving, preventing Shuler from controlling successfully.
Shuler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ciunchik swivels though and keeps the full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shuler closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ciunchik quickly recovers to half guard.
Ciunchik is breathing heavily.
Shuler with the ground and pound but Ciunchik uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Shuler gets to his feet - Ciunchik follows without any prompting.
Shuler forces Ciunchik back against the cage and clinches.
Ciunchik tries for a takedown but Shuler manages to get underhooks.

Shuler tries to score with some ground and pound. Ciunchik controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

and Shuler counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ciunchik's knee momentarily.

A left hand lands to the body for Shuler.
Shuler gets control of Ciunchik's arms and successfully pulls guard. Shuler will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Will Shuler is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Shuler has one foot on Ciunchik's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Well Shuler has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
