Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Krundle Bunder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Blues (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Blues's choice of entrance music: Soul Man. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blues wants to land a leg kick but Bunder is out of range.
Blues fails with a takedown attempt.
Nice sprawl there from Bunder as Blues shoots in.
Bunder slaps away a takedown attempt from Blues, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Krundle Bunder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Blues.
Blues is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bunder sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Blues walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Krundle Bunder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Blues is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bunder sees it coming and defends easily.

Blues lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Blues thows a huge punch but Bunder dodges it nicely.
Blues is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Blues moves nicely into side control.
Bunder is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Blues has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Blues has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Blues cracks Bunder with a big right hand but Bunder just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Blues tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Blues wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bunder, who protects the arm well.

Bunder knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Blues on the ground.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Blues shoots for a takedown but Bunder saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Blues closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bunder quickly recovers to half guard.
Nice strikes from Blues there.

Blues has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Blues is nestled in close to Bunder, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Blues has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Bunder is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Blues yanks on the arm and Bunder is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Blues.
