Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Melanko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Rumble (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Melanko comes to the ring accompanied by "Back In The Saddle Again" by Aerosmith. Rumble has chosen Click Click Boom as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jay Melanko! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Austin Rumble! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rumble shoots in for a double leg but Melanko sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Rumble wants to clinch up but Melanko keeps it at a distance. Rumble has managed to clinch.
Melanko tries to break the clinch but Rumble is controlling the position. Rumble gets control of Melanko's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rumble will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Melanko drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rumble manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Melanko has Rumble in his guard. Melanko is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rumble defends well. Rumble missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rumble has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Melanko has his foot on Rumble's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rumble works his way back into a safe position though. Rumble is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Rumble throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Melanko had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rumble defends it easily. Rumble with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rumble trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Melanko is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Rumble has his hands clasped together but Melanko extends an breaks Rumble's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Melanko.
