Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Krasilin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nathan Summers! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Krasilin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Summers is trying to defend but Krasilin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Krasilin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Summers's head. Summers is refusing to be controlled, as Krasilin sits in half guard. Summers tries to roll over but Krasilin keeps him under control. Krasilin with the ground and pound but Summers uses the opportunity to regain guard. Summers tries to land a sweep but no joy. Krasilin wants to pass the guard but Summers is keeping the position. Krasilin passes Summers's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Summers is trying to stand up here but Krasilin is controlling him well. Krasilin wants to control but Summers is keeping him busy. Krasilin has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Summers works to full guard. Krasilin trying to control the position from guard on top but Summers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Alex Krasilin. Summers blocks a head kick by Krasilin.
Krasilin gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Krasilin breaks the clinch.
Krasilin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Summers makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Krasilin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Summers did well to prevent Krasilin getting side control. Krasilin is breathing heavily. Summers works his way to full guard. Good work. Summers has a closed guard, preventing Krasilin from standing up. Krasilin throws a strike but Summers rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Summers passes Krasilin's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Summers is trying to work for a kimura but Krasilin is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Summers is working for a kimura but Krasilin is defending it quite comfortably.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Krasilin is trying to control but Summers passes into side control!
Summers advances nicely into full mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Krasilin is desperately trying to improve his position but Summers has a good base and remains in mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Alex Krasilin will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Krasilin moves in looking to clinch but Summers pushes him off. Krasilin misses with a two punch combination.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Krasilin enables Summers to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Krasilin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Summers stopping the sweep attempt from Krasilin. Summers throwing strikes but missing. Summers throwing strikes but missing. Summers thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Krasilin wants to hit a switch here but Summers passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Krasilin there! Summers looking to control but Krasilin is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Krasilin squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Summers punishing his opponent with strikes. Krasilin is looking to improve his position but Summers isn't that keen on the idea. Summers is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Krasilin is forced to tap! Great finish!
