Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brad Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitsuyo Maeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mitsuyo Maeda is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brad Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mitsuyo Maeda! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maeda misses with a low kick. Maeda shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Davis but Davis pushes him off and we're back to square one. Davis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Maeda sprawls well initially but Davis persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Maeda keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Davis tries to pass to full mount but Maeda defends it. Davis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Maeda defends it well. Davis throwing shots but Maeda is blocking nicely. Maeda avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Davis. Maeda looking for submissions off his back. Davis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Maeda doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Davis.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maeda has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Davis is working away from the top position though. Maeda has his hands clasped together around Davis's back. He's all about the action. Davis wants to work for an arm triangle but Maeda is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Maeda keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Davis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maeda on the ground. Davis looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Maeda looking for submissions off his back. Davis not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maeda trying to control from the bottom.
Maeda looking for submissions off his back. Davis wants to take a breather but Maeda is having none of it. Maeda is controlling Davis's trapped leg to prevent Davis from advancing to side control. Maeda is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Davis pulls his head out easily. Maeda trying to control but Davis postures up.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Maeda is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Davis is tapping! Great win for Maeda!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Mitsuyo Maeda! A relieved looking Mitsuyo Maeda thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
