Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angus Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khan is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Burn it Down by Five Finger Death Punch. Rafael Santos has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rafael Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Angus Khan!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Khan!
Khan misses with a double jab.
Santos really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Santos shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Khan pinned against the cage. Khan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Khan misses with a series of wild punches.

Santos gets caught flat footed, as Khan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Khan connects with a couple of short punches.
Santos wants to sweep here but Khan controlling him for the moment.
Khan chips away with some ground and pound.
Santos not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Khan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Santos trying to keep a closed guard but Khan is proving a slippery customer.

Santos striking off his back but it's not causing Khan any problems.

Santos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Khan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Khan keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Santos's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Khan works over Santos with some ground and pound from guard.
Khan lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Santos not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Khan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Khan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Santos tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Khan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Santos thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Khan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Santos has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Khan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Khan postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Santos throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Santos looking to hit a scissor sweep but Khan is one step ahead there.
Santos is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Santos seems to be looking for submissions.
Santos will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Santos wants to take a breather but Khan is having none of it.

Santos prevents Khan from improving his position.

Santos is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Santos wants to take a breather but Khan is having none of it.
Santos working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Santos slips a nice elbow through Khan's hands, connecting with Khan's forehead.
Khan wants to get back to full guard.
Khan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Santos trying to control the action but Khan is working from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Khan is looking for a sweep. Santos is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Khan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Santos looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Khan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Angus Khan dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Santos gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Khan counters with a one-two to the body.
A punch combination from Khan misses.
Khan throws a right hand that Santos ducks under and follows up with a left that Santos also avoids with ease.

and Khan counters with a left and a right that stings Santos.
Santos shoots for a double leg takedown but Khan sprawls well. He's pushed Santos's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rafael Santos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Santos shoots in for a takedown but Khan shows good takedown defense.
Khan lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Khan chips away with some ground and pound.
Khan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Santos is proving hard to escape from.
Santos bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Khan's guard.
Angus Khan has got the better of the ground game so far.

Khan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Santos is one step ahead there.

Khan had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Santos is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Khan Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Santos's back instead.
Santos trying to control the action but Khan just sinks the hooks in.
Khan has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Santos.
Santos tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Santos tries to lock up and control but Khan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Santos takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Santos tries to hold on but Khan pushes him away.

Santos is rocked!
Khan connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Oh Santos is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Khan cracks Santos with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Khan is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Santos can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Khan is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Khan lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Khan drops a big elbow. That's hurt Santos! More shots from Khan and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Angus Khan!
