The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Steve Montenegro and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marks moves into range and clinches up with Kootz.

Kootz is trying to trip Marks. He has hold of a leg but Marks is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Kootz persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Kootz tries to free his leg and advance position but Marks is retaining full guard.

Marks throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Kootz is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Kootz slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Marks is letting Kootz control him for a moment.
Marks tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Kootz tries for a kimura but Marks is defending well.

Kootz looks up at the clock and then as Marks takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kootz smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Kootz is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Marks knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kootz breaks from Marks's wrist control and lands an elbow.


It looks like Trevor Marks has been cut.
Kootz lands a big shot there that rocks Marks but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Marks defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Kootz.

Kootz controlling well, preventing Marks from escaping the position.
Kootz really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Marks.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kootz keeps control of the position easily here as Marks tries to buck him off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kootz thuds a left hand into Marks's body.
Marks attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Kootz scores with a body shot.
Marks tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kootz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Marks shoots in for a takedown but Kootz shows good takedown defense.
Marks with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kootz to score with a decent uppercut.
Marks takes a jab right on the kisser.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kootz works Marks's body with a nice hook.
Marks is breathing heavily.
Kootz thuds a left hand into Marks's body.
Kootz cracks Marks with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Marks walks into a stiff left hand from Kootz.


Marks is rocked!
Kootz lands a jab to Marks's midsection.
Marks is still on wobbly legs! Can Kootz finish him?
Kootz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Marks can do to turn this around?
Kootz drops Marks with a big left hand! Marks is injured, injured bad! Kootz jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rage Kootz!
In his post fight interview, Rage Kootz started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
