Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Wright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyrone Watkins!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright throws a left and a right that both miss
and Watkins counters with a head kick.
Watkins dives in and grabs Wright's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wright pushes down on Watkins's head and hops out.
Wright shoots in looking for a takedown but Watkins manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wright's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Watkins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wright paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Watkins looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wright is fending him off so far but Watkins persists. Nope, Wright circles away and we're back to standing.
Wright swinging wildly here.
Watkins throws a nice looking combination but Wright bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sloppy strikes from Wright. Those never looked like landing.
Wright swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Watkins tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Wright manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
No luck for Watkins with that takedown attempt.
Eric Wright has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyrone Watkins.
Watkins takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wright throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Watkins tries to keep at a distance but Wright has taken the fight into the clinch.
Wright goes for a takedown in the clinch but Watkins prevents it.

Watkins just leaning against Wright, taking a breather.
Wright tries to break the clinch but Watkins is controlling the position.
Wright is trying to pull guard but Watkins turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Watkins misses with a punch on the inside.
Wright tries to break free but Watkins pushes him back against the cage.
Wright tries to circle away but Watkins has him pinned against the cage.
Wright is trying to break the clinch but Watkins has him pressed against the cage.
Wright is looking to take this one to the mat.
Wright is breathing heavily.
Wright gets control of Watkins's arms and successfully pulls guard. Wright will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Watkins won't allow Wright to get back to his feet.

Watkins stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A slow jab from Wright misses its intended target.
Wright throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A nice combination there by Watkins.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wright misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
No joy there for Wright, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Watkins shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wright as he avoids it easily.
Watkins looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Watkins connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Wright tumbling to the canvas! Watkins pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Wright was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Tyrone Watkins!
