Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Kawakami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abel Stamp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kenji Kawakami! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Abel Stamp! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stamp tries to clinch but Kawakami is having none of it. Abel Stamp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stamp misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kawakami fails to land with a series of punches.
Left hook, right uppercut from Kawakami. Stamp scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Kawakami cracks Stamp with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Kawakami throws a right and a left that Stamp avoids nicely. Kawakami tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Kawakami gets caught flat footed, as Stamp shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Kawakami looking for a guillotine here but Stamp defends easily.
Kawakami doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Stamp really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kawakami. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kawakami controls Stamp momentarily but Stamp frees himself. Kawakami had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Stamp is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kawakami Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Stamp's back instead. Stamp tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Stamp is looking to improve his position but Kawakami isn't that keen on the idea.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kawakami cracks Stamp with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Kawakami lands with some strikes. Stamp sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Kawakami is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stamp is just riding it out for now. Kawakami eventually gives up the hold. Stamp is looking to escape. Stamp is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kawakami working over Stamp with some ground and pound. Stamp looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Stamp kicks Kawakami off and gets back to his feet. Stamp showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kawakami.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kawakami gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Stamp counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Kawakami is looking to improve his position.
Stamp trying to control the action but Kawakami is working from the bottom. Stamp working over Kawakami with some ground and pound. Kawakami looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stamp throwing shots but Kawakami is blocking nicely. Kawakami has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Stamp seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kawakami does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Stamp might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kawakami kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Kawakami makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kawakami. Kawakami is breathing heavily. Kawakami working for a triangle but Stamp defends it easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Kawakami has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stamp can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Stamp scoring with punches to the head and body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stamp with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Kawakami keeping moving, preventing Stamp from controlling successfully. Stamp stands up over Kawakami, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Stamp avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Stamp wants to pass the guard but Kawakami is keeping the position. Kawakami had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Stamp is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kawakami Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Stamp's back instead. Kawakami connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Stamp to escape the position.
Stamp covers up after that shot from Kawakami.
Can Stamp hold on?! Kawakami is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Kawakami scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Stamp is looking for a way out. Kawakami scores with punches from the back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kawakami throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Stamp!
Kawakami scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Kawakami has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Stamp. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kawakami doesn't have the hooks in and Stamp manages to turn into his guard.

Kawakami has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Stamp doesn't defend quickly enough and Kawakami has managed to lock this one up! Can Stamp escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Kawakami on a fantastic submission victory.
