Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Josh Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rodrigo Santos!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Santos manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A nice inside leg kick there by Johnson. That's going to slow Santos down.
Johnson lands with a nice body kick.
Johnson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.


It looks like Rodrigo Santos has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Johnson stuffs the takedown.
Johnson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Johnson wants it to stay on the feet.
Johnson's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Johnson duly obliges.
Santos looks gassed!
Santos misses with a wild body shot.
Josh Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Johnson gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Santos is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Johnson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Josh Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodrigo Santos.
Johnson lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Johnson manages to break the clinch.

Johnson cracks Santos with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Johnson has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Santos to stand back up!


Santos is rocked!
That kick from Johnson tenderised Santos's leg. Santos is trying to keep his angry face on.
Santos is still on wobbly legs! Can Johnson finish him?
Santos on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
The crowd cheers as Johnson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Santos doesn't seem phased though.


That has opened up Rodrigo Santos's cut even more.
Crunch! Johnson slams his shin into Santos's torso.
Johnson thumps Santos with a low kick.
Santos seems to have recovered his senses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson cracks Santos with an open hand slap.
Johnson scoring well with a low kick there.

Johnson lands a big head kick that sends Santos tumbling to the mat! Johnson takes a step backwards and waves Santos back to his feet - he wants the finish!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Johnson slips under a jab.
Johnson steps in with a hook that catches Santos right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Johnson follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Santos looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Josh Johnson!
