The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overeem throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Dario De Silva has been cut.
Overeem lands a front kick.
Overeem stuffs the takedown.
Overeem scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Overeem tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
De Silva is trying to improve his position.
De Silva is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Overeem off and has taken his back!
De Silva tightening his grip on Overeem, looking for the choke.
This has been an exciting period of action!
De Silva is looking to control Overeem but Overeem is wriggling around and keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Overeem is in a bad position with De Silva working for a choke. Overeem manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
De Silva looks gassed!
Overeem is looking to work some ground and pound but De Silva has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

De Silva utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Overeem pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. De Silva is keeping the position for now.
Overeem trying to control but De Silva is working from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now De Silva is on top in guard.

De Silva thows a big elbow that misses.

De Silva seems to be working for a kimura but Overeem defends the submission attempt.
Overeem moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

De Silva drops back looking for a leg! Overeem is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Overeem manages to kick De Silva off! De Silva jumps back into Overeem's guard.
De Silva is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Overeem wants to stand and escape but De Silva is having none of it.
De Silva drops back, looking for a kneebar! Overeem looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Overeem looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Overeem!
De Silva can't do much from the bottom here.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
De Silva throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
De Silva gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Overeem connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Overeem loads up on a big right hand but De Silva slips the punch.

Alistair Overeem has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dario De Silva.
Overeem feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
De Silva bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Overeem's guard.
De Silva slips nicely into half guard.
Overeem is not content to let De Silva control the position.
Overeem looking for submissions off his back.
De Silva is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Overeem is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of De Silva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take De Silva's back!
De Silva breaks Overeem's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
De Silva slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
De Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no De Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
What's Overeem going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Alistair Overeem will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Dario De Silva's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
De Silva misses with a takedown attempt
and Overeem counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
De Silva lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.
Overeem trying to control but De Silva is working from the bottom.
Overeem is looking to stand up but De Silva won't let him.
Overeem avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Overeem gets to his feet - De Silva follows without any prompting.
De Silva fails with the takedown
and Overeem decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in De Silva's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
De Silva keeping moving, preventing Overeem from controlling successfully.
De Silva has his feet on Overeem's thighs here. He's pushed Overeem off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Overeem screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
