Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Colin Joyce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Duran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Duran!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duran tries for a takedown but Joyce circles away easily
and Joyce counters with a single leg into guard. Duran didn't expect that.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Joyce passes into half guard.
Joyce is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Duran defends it well.
Joyce decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Duran tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Joyce counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Joyce accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Joyce stands up from Duran's guard - Joyce perhaps looking for a knockout.
Joyce closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Joyce escapes and gets back to his feet.
Duran gets caught napping as Joyce dives in and scores a takedown. Duran manages to retain guard.

Joyce will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Colin Joyce.
Duran tries to close the distance and clinch up but Joyce swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Duran shoots for a takedown but Joyce saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Duran throws a series of punches but Joyce moves out of range.
Joyce misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Duran.
Joyce fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Duran manages to avoid it.
Duran just misses with a punch to the body.

and Joyce moves into the clinch.
Colin Joyce has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Duran.
Joyce's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Duran gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Joyce is in close to Duran's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Joyce passes Duran's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Joyce decides to stand up.
Joyce decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Joyce is taking a breather. Duran says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Joyce seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Joyce in particular looking to stall.
Colin Joyce has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Joyce tried to score with a low kick but Duran checks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Joyce tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Joyce jabs Duran to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Joyce clinches up with Duran and pushes him back against the cage.
Duran is trying to drag Joyce to the mat but Joyce just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Joyce breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Duran throws a head kick but Joyce moves out of range.
Joyce decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Joyce postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Duran to stand up.

Joyce shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Joyce slows the pace down in half guard.
Duran holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Duran tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Joyce manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Joyce feints and as Duran raises his hands in defense, Joyce changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Joyce stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Duran to get to his feet.

Joyce has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Duran on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Duran is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Joyce's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Joyce! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Duran has tapped! This one is allllll over!
